Gabbanelli have also had a workshop/store in Houston, Texas, since 1960, when Gianfranco Gabbanelli emigrated to the US from Italy and opened premises there. Witha little cosmetic cleaning and new straps - well you've got a go. You just might find the reeds are still in tune, and only need a leather replaced here and there. ![]() They just don't make these as they used to, and I spend 30% of my time refurbishing these for another half of century of use.Ī good looking low mileage, well stored box. The box you have was well made (student model) and had quality components and quality machine made reeds. All that is required is to order more than 10 and they will ship a box (button or PA) with your name on it (Silkscreen)with a name that is not copyrighted and install low quality Chinese, or German or Italian (2nd's) reeds. This practice is still used today with Chinese made accordions. Yours is what it is and not a bad quality student model for the time, and could be ordered from Italy (depending on the quantity) made with your badge on it. Now in the late 40's to the 60's the so called "Golden Age Of Accordions" was as it's peak. ![]() Looking at your Pic's, the box looks like a Gabbanelli made product made for import to US dealers.
